Santiago Calatrava

I love an architect/ designer who believes that beauty is an important part to designing a building. This architect designed the art museum in Milwaukee, and it is such a unique building. He is the architect for the new world trade center. I can't wait to see what he comes up with.

The company I interviewed with a couple of weeks ago (who didn't hire me) focuses on beauty and meaning in their design work. I do believe that a building needs to be functional first and foremost. But, when a designer goes above and beyond the meaning for a client's building, it's unique and treasured. The owner of the firm I interviewed for designed a building for an eye research company. The entire floor plan is built based off of an eye. Everything is circular. This building was made just for this company alone and I love that. I would love to work under someone like that! Someday.
